The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Daily Deviation and Hawaii!

It's been a while since I posted, sorry! Life has been quite hectic. I've done several cons in the past couple of months and still flying for Delta, so freetime is hard to come by. But I love staying busy and getting things done

Thanks again to everyone who ordered cosplay accessories and prints from me toward the end of March, I was able to raise $500 to donate to the Red Cross!

I posted photos of my newest costume, Catwoman, recently and was surprised to find that one them got a Daily Deviation! Thank you to Rosella-of-Daventry for the suggestion and to KubusRubus for the feature.

I'm in Hawaii right now since I just finished selling my products at Kawaii-Kon, and I have till Thursday to explore the Island and do everything from swimming, beach, scuba diving and hiking. It is beautiful here and I love the food and natural scenery so much. Will also try to do a photoshoot while I'm here.

Next up for me are Anime Central and Fanime, so stay tuned!
