I've devoted most of this month so far to finally working on new costumes for myself. After 7 months of working non-stop, it feels incredible to set time aside for a personal project or two.
Dragoncon, my favorite convention, is coming up, and I am trying to finish a few outfits for that weekend. The most important costume will be of the character Dawn by Joseph Michael Linser, for the Look-Alike contest on Saturday night of course! It's the best run costuming related contest at Dragoncon in my opinion! I've been backstage to play handler to my friends who entered in the past, helped create one of the winner's costume, and loaned out two sets of wings to contestants before lol. So even though this is the first time I am entering, I feel like I have this excited familiarity with the Dawn contest. Hopefully this year will be an awesome show and I can't wait to see everyone's adaptions.

Besides the Dawn costume I'm just making some easy cute outfits to hang out with friends and take silly pictures together haha. Don't have time for something elaborate, as I want to try an enjoy my break as well as stay creative. I still have to fill my store orders, and finish another pair of giant angel wings for a customer.

Anyone interested in coming to the Dawn contest, it will be on Saturday, the 5th of September, at 8:00pm. Dragoncon's website is here: www.dragoncon.org

I totally understand your joy of finding the time to be able to work on your own projects. For YEARS I've been a slave to other fans projects by supplying pieces and parts for their costumes and rarely getting a chance to work on my own. Scheduling your own "me costuming time" helps keep you fresh and inventive. I look forward to seeing what you show up with at D*C.

I'll make sure to come watch you! I'll be entering it next year. Have any online sites to view most of Dawn's costumes or should I just pick up the comic? Hope you're having fun with it all, that's what cosplay's all about!

Oh yeah and I saw that you added me on Facebook a while back right after Otakon? I was a little confused by that, just wondering what it was for.
