Thanks to Kevin Green for these shots taken at Wondercon 2011
Costume made and modeled by me
This costume is based on the Adam Hughes covers for the Catwoman comics. [link] [link] [link]
Selina is such a iconic character and he captured her so well that I wanted to pay tribute.
I started with a base black latex suit and made the gloves with the claws, hood with the catears, and goggles. I tried to find as accurate as boots as I could, and ordered a leather whip as well.
In the future I definitely would like to do a rooftop shoot with this costume, gosh the possibilities are near endless!
EDIT: Thank you so much for the Daily Deviation! I was so surprised when I woke up to find this. I also really appreciate all the nice comments and feedback. One thing about getting a DD is that inadvertently it comes with criticism as well. Overall I welcome criticism and constantly strive to improve on my costumes. And honestly most of you are saying far too nice things, thank you. But what I don't like is when people make assumptions about me and my work without taking the time to read the description, or research my portfolio at least a little bit. This is the first photo I've posted of this Catwoman costume, which was taken against a wall at a con and is meant to show off the costume. Nothing more. More photos of a variety are coming soon. I think people sometimes forget that we are real human beings sweating inside these outfits, and there are outside conditions that impact the images we produce. Planning for an uninterrupted photo session is difficult and requires time, effort and sometimes money. We do our best to get some good shots at a convention when we're already dressed up, but the constant bombardment of attendees wanting photos of you, with you, with their kids, with their friends etc. can make doing a serious photoshoot difficult. I enjoy meeting people and taking photos with them, so I sometimes sacrifice a private photoshoot for socializing with the attendees.
All I'm trying to say it - have some common sense and think before you speak. I never go on DA to criticize anyone because I believe there are factors involved in producing each Deviation that are not known to me.
Agreed that this is hot, but I think I like the newer textured version from arkham city, I think that shows of your skill as a costume maker more so (granted these are older shots). Cheers, keep up your kick @$$ cosplay.
