I found a couple of more shots from the post apocalyptic outfit that I put together back in 2007: This is obviously a tribute to the movie "Mad Max". I totally love the world of Mad Max, especially "Beyond The Thunder Dome"!

The costume was designed and created by me, between altering pieces from my wardrobe, making accessories like the shoulder pad, and throwing props on to my body last minute, like the gas mask.
The makeup is a scary but still glamorous look (I am wearing a white out contact in my right eye, but you can't see it that well in this shot). It's like, you're surviving in a desolate savage world, but still gotta look good. Lol.

Why the heck would people in a post apocalyptic world ever wear this kind of impractical bikini-like clothing?

Try running five days in the woods with that and come back to me.
Not to mention the heels.

Well, if that's not empirical evidence, I don't know what is. (/sarcasm)

I'm not saying it's not feasible, I'm saying it isn't practical. I really, really don't see why you keep insisting. It's like if I said that using a bow is more efficient than throwing the arrow by hand and you retorted that you could throw it by hand, and that people using bows are wimps. I can also fight with my hands tied behind my back, practice target shooting with a blindfold or use a swiss knife to cut down an oak, but I don't claim it's a valid method.
