Happy Halloween! I wore this costume last night to a party and got these shots in this morning, so it seemed appropriate to share.

Costume made and worn by me at Dragoncon 2010. I am a HUGE Firefly fan and have wanted to dress up as Inara for years. YEARS! Finally for D*C I got a group together and chose to make the red dress from the Episode "Train Job". I used over 5 yards of red dupioni silk on this outfit - so pretty and luxurious. I altered a pattern for the main dress and drafted my own patterns for the sleeves. The dress is serged and lined of course. I ordered three gold jewelry belts from ebay (those are hard to find!) and made them into one. It was nice to be able to use my own hair!
