Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop) costume made and modeled by me - photoshoot was done at Sakuracon 2011, with Paul Tien, thank you!

EDIT: In response to comments about my skin - Paul shot this in front of a huge glass window which filtered the natural light of the day and he also used a fill flash. The result was a soft flattering light! Skilled photographers equal nice evenly lit models

From the same shoot came the brand new image I chose for my month in the Cosplay For a Cause 2011 calendar, which will be released this summer. Featuring never before seen photos by 18 cosplayers from around the world and artwork by 4 well-know American comic book artist, this is a charity calendar dedicated to the Earthquake victims in Japan. We want to show our love for Japan and support in the efforts to rebuild. All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross directly benefiting Japan.
I thought Faye would be a great character to be included in the calendar because Cowboy Bebop was such an influential and iconic anime, between the storyline, animation quality, MUSIC BY YOKO KANNO, character development... and Faye is one of anime's all time coolest female characters.
